@25mfd Very wet topsoil on top of silty clay.

  3. 25mfd sagt:

What type of soil is this?

what do you like better the JD 850 or the cat 385 what would rather run?

  6. redheadedduckhunter sagt:

do they make any tracked dump trucks? because that would be great for this type of situation

  7. fox13z400 sagt:

@vantagetes I see so the machines power wise are very similar.

  8. vantagetes sagt:

@fox13z400 The deere has it’s counterweight hanging down, which is dumb as you loose clearance (wet material where you are sinking etc). It also has two hoses to run the ram which lowers the counterweight for removal which sticks down even lower and tend to rub. Lost a machine for 3 hours when one of those frayed and leaked all over. The cat has a little more grunt but they are close. Panels make the Cat look bigger too but they are pretty close in weight.

@vantagetes So it’s smoother then the 385…gotcha. So is power the same? and what about size in general? like if u look at the two machine side by side are they about the same size? the deere looks like it has a big counter weight?

  10. vantagetes sagt:

@fox13z400 Can’t bulk as much but a bit smoother.

what’s the power like with this machine compared to your 385? similar? more or less?

@MMilitia2006 I’ve already done lots of main line. Try to match my production numbers…each job is different and requires different techniques. You aren’t a good operator until you can adapt to meet production and quality in any work enviroment.

    Wow!!!I’m so impressed.Cleaning up a spill pile.Try main line and I’ll decide if you’re worthy.Doubt it

@hannahbyrdsman …… that machine is in excess of 80ton.., how fast do you expect it to move..? consider the volume of material it extracts with each bucket and then weigh up its speed versus a 3-30ton machine.. loading a 40ton adt in 3 to four passes.. thats speed.. HONK!! NEXT…!! vantagetes., you guys looking for any operators?, certified excavator, dozer, haultruck and loading shovel operator in need of some work, go damn recession, big equipment is my fortae

Heck no, what would I need those for? Haha I used to have a head from a plastic decoy duck on the short stick 385 cause the only way to dig out swamps was to wade in with the thing and have the trucks sit on hard ground (no reach!). You’d be surprised where you can take an 80 ton hoe if you’re careful not to pull to hard while digging and use nice smooth movements. Realizing you’re starting to sink BEFORE you get stuck comes in handy too and you can usually self rescue. Never got pulled out yet!
